1. Hard Core Hike

Jewish Hike ColoradoCome meet Rabbi Korngold and Jeanette Domber for a day of rigorous hiking through awe inspiring wildflowers complemented by contemplative conversation.

We will hike, learn, and hike some more.
(Mostly hike though!)

Sunday, Aug 11, 2013
: Join Jeanette Domber and Rabbi Jamie for another fabulous wilderness adventure.

Join us for our last hard core hike of the season, an 8-9 mile round trip hike to Pawnee Pass in the Brainard Lake Recreation area. We'll climb about 2000' feet from the trailhead to the pass as we pass alpine lakes and meadows, with plenty of wildflowers, and a few creek crossings.

We will get an early start to avoid the chance of afternoon thunderstorms by meeting at 6:00 am sharp in Boulder to carpool to the trailhead. (If you are willing to drive, please come with a full tank of gas.)

You must be in Colorado shape to do this hike. Plan on being out all day and pack accordingly (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain gear, a warmer layer just in case it's cool as we climb up to 12,550 ft, plenty of water, and food, etc.). We will return to the car pool location by 5 pm at the latest (but usually earlier). Please RSVP for car pool location and just in case we make any last minute trail changes due to weather

What: 8-9 miles at altitude with 2000 feet elevation gain.

When: August 11. 2013
We will meet in Boulder at 6 am at a location to be disclosed when you sign up. We should be back by 4 or 5 pm.

Suggested equipment: Plenty of water, lunch & snacks, sunscreen, rain gear, warm layers, waterproof boots, & poles (We might be crossing some snow fields here and there)

Fee: free for members, all others $22 per hike or (Late fee of + $5/hike, begins 7 days before before the hike)

Guides: Rabbi Jamie Korngold, and Jeanette Domber

Who Should Sign Up?
To come on this trip you must be in strong physical condition and able to hike at a sustained pace on an adventure which will last up to 8 hours. (If you are in "Boulder" shape, you'll be fine. This won't be as hard as a peak climb. But, for people that don't get out much, it would be hard. Call us if that doesn't make sense!)
You must be willing to work with a group. We are unable to accommodate dogs or children under 16.

Please do not show up at the trail head without advanced registration.
Participants must speak to Jeanette
or have been on hikes with us before to be eligible for this trip.
